Following the success in Italy of the exhibition ‘Mother Russia’
the artistic director of ‘The Salt Yard’ , a new space for photography
opening next year in Hong Kong, proposed to host the exhibition
with my new layout.
The underlying theme remains the same. Hence the idea of an
exhibition that offers, through a series of portraits of female
subjects made by Russian photographers, a contemporary look
on Russia.
The woman then as the main theme of a journey through daily
life as much as dreams and aesthetics.
The choice of different projects comes from the need to gather
evidence on the different interpretation of the feminine world.
Finally, the exhibition emphasizes the importance of women in
a time of profound social transformations in Russia. The role of
women mirror the right to freedom and emancipation.
